POSCO LED held a showcase event at the headquarters of POSCO ICT in Pangyo, Gyeonggi, on March 7, for its new 13W LED semiconductor lamp, which can fully replace the traditional compact fluorescent lamp.
The newly launched product is an upgraded product of the 9W LED semiconductor lamp that has already hit the shelves. While the 9W lamp is available for household use, this 13W lamp features a wide range of applications in commercial facilities including stores and offices that demand the higher lighting output.
The 13W LED semiconductor lamp is highly energy-efficient, saving up to 85% compared to the traditional incandescent lamp and up to 45% compared to the compact fluorescent lamp. Particularly, it is 1.6 times higher in lighting output and twice in coverage area than its competitors, minimizing no lighting area and illuminating a wider area with a smaller amount.
[ LED semiconductor lamp is… ]
A lighting product that pioneers popularizing the use of LED lamps with its improved cost competitiveness enabled by an innovative approach to the simplification in manufacturing by using the minimum number of components. The existing LED lamps use the direct current so that they need a complex circuit system like switched-mode power supply to convert the alternating current at households and industrial facilities to the direct current for the lamps. But, the LED semiconductor lamp manufactured by POSCO LED uses the alternating current directly without any circuit system. Compared with the existing LED lamps, the lamp is lighter in weight and longer in product life and features high quality and low cost at a reasonable price. |
