[POSCO LED's products are glittering at the MesseTurm in Germany]

POSCO LED has been named as the best practice company of green growth in 2015. The company is a business arm of POSCO, specialized in LED lighting technology. In addition to lighting products, it offers a total solution for lighting, including smart lighting systems and lighting consultancy services. Its excellence in design has been recognized at the world's prestigious design awards, including the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award.

It develops and manufactures products that have a wide range of applications in various circumstances, including industrial and commercial facilities as well as residential areas. It is particularly more competitive in the industrial LED lighting sector. For the past four years, it has lighted up over 100 industrial sites in 22 countries across the world. With its LED lighting, industrial facilities in Korea have saved nearly KRW 17.6 billion on their annual energy bills. Such savings are equivalent to planting 25 million trees.

An integrated still mill in Pohang, particularly, was able to save KRW 2.1 billion in its power bills last year by replacing its lighting with LED replacements. It was able to reduce nearly 9,000 tons in carbon emissions, equivalent to planting 3.1 million trees.

The competitive edge of POSCO LED is a wide range of experiences in industrial sites, spanning 22 countries around the world. Its experiences include various applications for industrial sites, including steel mills, in various countries, such as Indonesia, China, Brazil, Australia, the UK and the US. Its products were also used at the MesseTurm, a landmark building in Frankfurt, Germany. 

Recently, POSCO LED launched a new industrial product, BL085, which boasts the competitiveness in price as well as quality. The product is a follow-up model of BL115, the best selling item in Korea, with significant improvement in efficiency.

Also, it is scheduled to launch BL145 in May. BL145 features the upgrade of heat radiation using three-dimensional cooling enhancements. It includes a multi-purpose bracket, which allows customers to install the product in various ways: chain-mounted, pipe-mounted and wall-mounted. With this multi-purpose bracket, customers do not need to buy additional brackets to meet their specific needs of installation.

Meanwhile, POSCO LED recently signed an agreement for mutual growth in the LED light fixture business with the Korean Commission for Corporate Partnership. The highlight of the agreement is making effort to expand the LED light fixture market in Korea in the cooperation between major companies and SMEs. According to the agreement, the company will regulate its activities in the government procurement market, cooperate with SMEs in the OEM and ODM production, jointly develop technology and share information on marketing, investment and sales channels
